FAIRFAX, VA - Former 27-year federal prosecutor and former Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor of Virginia Gene Rossi endorsed Sean Perryman’s campaign for Lt. Governor on Thursday. Rossi ran in the 2017 Democratic primary after an extensive and distinguished career as a trial attorney that included serving as an Assistant US Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia.
“I’m proud to endorse Sean Perryman in the race to be Virginia’s next Lt. Governor,” said Rossi. “I trust Sean to be a strong advocate on issues that affect Virginian families, like raising the minimum wage and ensuring healthcare is a human right. Importantly, Sean has years of experience with our legal system and understands what it will take to level the playing field. He’s ready to lead and I’m excited to support his campaign.”

Governor, which is why his endorsement is important to me,” said Perryman. “Gene and I also share a background in law and a commitment to accountability in our justice system. He knows that I will approach criminal justice reform policy with expertise while centering equity for marginalized Virginians. Rossi’s endorsement comes a day after Perryman was endorsed by Chairman Jeff McKay of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, and is the seventh endorsement the Perryman campaign has picked up just this week.
Sean Perryman is President Emeritus of the Fairfax County Chapter of the NAACP, a technology public policy advocate, attorney, and former congressional investigator. If elected he would become one of the youngest Lt. Governors in Virginia history.
