FAIRFAX, VA - Sean Perryman’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor announced on Tuesday the endorsement of Pastor F. Todd Gray of the historic Fifth Street Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. The endorsement follows last week’s announcement of over 13 total endorsements from Black policymakers and community leaders from across the Commonwealth. Pastor Gray joins 36 other Virginia leaders that have endorsed Perryman since the launch of his historic campaign.
“As President of the Fairfax NAACP, Sean has a consistent record of activating his community and bringing people of all walks of life together to fight for real change. His commitment to racial justice and ensuring equitable outcomes means he will bring a much-needed vision for bold action to Richmond. In these trying times of crisis, I can think of no one better to lead us from the Lt. Governor’s office as we work to create more a compassionate and just Commonwealth.”
In response to the endorsement, Perryman said, “It’s exciting to have the endorsement of such an accomplished and respected member of the community like Pastor Gray. Both within the Church and other civic institutions, Pastor Gray has led on issues of social justice and equity in Richmond. Our campaign and the movement we are building is made stronger by his leadership, and I look forward to fighting by his side for a Virginia that lifts up all people.”
Sean Perryman is President of the Fairfax County Chapter of the NAACP, a technology public policy advocate, attorney, and former congressional investigator. If elected he would become one of the youngest Lt. Governors in Virginia history.
