FAIRFAX, VA - Sean Perryman’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor announced five new endorsements from policymakers and prominent Virginia activists on Monday. The announcement follows endorsements from 31 additional community leaders since the launch of the campaign. The new endorsements include:

Adam Chaikoff: Virginia Young Democrats Labor Caucus Chair
Brad Haywood: Founder and Executive Director of Justice Forward Virginia
Caleb Rogers: Williamsburg City Councilman
Valerie Slater, Esq: Community and Youth Advocate
Symone Walker: Co-Chair, Arlington NAACP Education Committee and Arlington Parent

“Virginia needs a Lt. Governor who’s going to champion widespread progressive change and work with the grassroots to get it done. Sean Perryman’s experience tackling issues of educational equity and racial justice as President of the Fairfax NAACP and advocating for workers impacted by the gig economy proves that he’s exactly the person to do this. This is why I’m proud to endorse him,” said Chaikof.

“As an activist and fighter in the criminal justice movement, I am proud to endorse Sean Perryman for Lt. Governor. I have been on the front lines of the fight to bring about vital criminal justice reforms, and I know that Sean has the values and leadership to help bring about criminal justice reform at the state level. Already, he has been a tireless voice in this struggle as the President of the Fairfax NAACP. I have no doubt that Sean will make us proud as Lt. Governor,” said Haywood.

“It is an honor to endorse Sean Perryman for Lt. Governor. For years, Sean has been a strong voice for common-sense reforms that will lift up the voices of hard-working everyday Virginians. As Lt. Governor, I am confident that Sean will continue to work tirelessly to end the old Virginia way of doing business. Sean will make us proud as Lt. Governor,” added Rogers.

“I proudly endorse Sean for Virginia’s next Lt. Governor. Sean is a true activist, with boldness and confidence to drive change, and a background that informs his approach. These qualities make him the candidate I trust to stand up for the most vulnerable, like people of color and Virginia’s children. Sean already has a strong track record of doing this in his advocacy for policy changes regarding the use of school resource officers and hiring diversity within Fairfax Public schools. Sean is creative and pushed for solutions that would give his daughter a brighter future in Virginia, and I know he will do the same for all of our children if elected Lt. Governor.” said Slater.

“As an education activist, I am proud to endorse Sean Perryman. Since I have known him, he has dedicated his time to improving the quality of educational environments for Virginia’s children, ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and inclusive for all. Through his activism as the Chair of the Education Committee of the Fairfax NAACP, and more recently as President of that branch, Sean has worked tirelessly to create a brighter future for the next generation of Virginians, including his daughter. I know Sean will carry his respect for education and commitment to improving educational institutions to the Lt. Governorship and work with relevant stakeholders to make more progress,” said Walker.

In response to the endorsements, Perryman said, “I am thrilled to have the support of these great community leaders and progressive policy advocates. They have been instrumental in fighting for a stronger Commonwealth for years. The outpouring of support for our campaign in the past few months demonstrates that Virginians are ready and eager for a new generation of leadership in Virginia. I look forward to having these leaders by my side as Lieutenant Governor.”

Sean Perryman is President of the Fairfax County Chapter of the NAACP, a technology public policy advocate, attorney, and former congressional investigator. If elected he would become one of the youngest Lt. Governor in Virginia history. He has been endorsed by Delegate Kaye Kory, Lindsey Davis Stover, Vice-Mayor Chad Martin, Pastor Michelle Thomas, and several other Virginia Leaders.
