FAIRFAX, VA - Sean Perryman’s campaign for Lt. Governor of Virginia announced the endorsement of Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay on Wednesday. Fairfax County is the largest jurisdiction in the Commonwealth and McKay is the seventh member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and the tenth Fairfax County elected official to endorse Perryman. Perryman leads the race for Lieutenant Governor in endorsements from Fairfax County and Hampton Roads—two of the leading regions for Democratic votes.

Sean understands the inequities in our systems and is well positioned to lead on policy and deliver change to lift up Virginians. As we look to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, I trust that Sean will be the partner Fairfax County needs in Richmond to help us not just get back on track, but to make sure all of us are better off then before.”

McKay joins a long list of Fairfax County endorsers of the Perryman campaign, including supervisors Walkinshaw, Foust, Smith, Palchik, Lusk, and Alcorn, school board members Meren and Frisch, and Commonwealth’s Attorney Descano. He is the second county chair to endorse Perryman, who is also backed by Loudoun County Chairwoman Phyllis Randall. This consolidation of support in the largest county in Virginia, and the greater Democratic stronghold of Northern Virginia, shows that the Perryman campaign is heading into early voting with big momentum and clear status as one of the frontrunners in the race to be Virginia’s next Lt. Governor.
Sean Perryman is President Emeritus of the Fairfax County Chapter of the NAACP, a technology public policy advocate, attorney, and former congressional investigator. If elected, he would become one of the youngest Lt. Governors in Virginia history.
