Hampton, VA - Sean Perryman’s campaign for Lt. Governor of Virginia rolled out a big slate of new endorsements from Hampton Roads area elected officials and community leaders on Monday. These newest endorsements from Newport News, Chesapeake, Hampton, Portsmouth, Franklin, Smithfield, and Isle of Wight County come after the Perryman campaign spent the weekend at community events in the area, and follow previous endorsements from area elected officials.
The list of new endorsers includes:

“These endorsements are a sign of the consolidation happening around our campaign in the Hampton Roads area,” said Perryman. “No other candidate in the race for Lt. Governor has even come close to as many endorsements from Hampton Roads as we have because we are speaking to the needs of all Virginians, such as small business development, tackling the school-to-prison pipeline, investing in broadband for all, and combating the climate crisis that threatens Virginia’s coastal communities. We are building not just a statewide campaign, but a statewide movement that is united around a vision for the modern, progressive Commonwealth we all know is possible. I’m excited to stand side by side with these dedicated public servants as we fight for that vision together.”
In just the past few weeks, a growing number of Hampton Roads area elected officials have joined the Perryman campaign’s list of endorsers, including Chesapeake-area Delegate Cliff Hayes and Hampton Commonwealth’s Attorney Anton Bell, bringing the total number of endorsements from the region to 20. Perryman continues to show the most strength of any candidate in the three largest constituencies of Democratic primary voters—Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia, and Richmond—clearly moving him into a frontrunner position for the nomination.
Sean Perryman is President Emeritus of the Fairfax County Chapter of the NAACP, a technology public policy advocate, attorney, and former congressional investigator. If elected he would become one of the youngest Lt. Governors in Virginia history.
