FAIRFAX, VA – Sean Perryman’s campaign for Lt. Governor rolled out a slate of new endorsements from elected and former officials from the Hampton Roads region on Thursday. These endorsements build upon the support that the Perryman campaign has already received from the Hampton Roads region and highlights the campaign’s strength in the diverse area of reliable Democratic primary voters.
The new endorsements include:
- Jimmy Gray, Hampton Vice Mayor
- Tina Vick, Newport News City Council member
- Gabe Morgan, Newport News Sheriff
- Dr. Terri Best, Newport News School Board member
- Dwight Parker, former Chesapeake City Council member
“I’m honored to receive the backing of so many valued community leaders,” said Perryman. “These endorsements reflect the diverse coalition of Virginians our campaign has brought together around our shared values of fairness, justice, and progress. When we first announced our campaign, some assumed that a candidate from Northern Virginia couldn’t find statewide appeal. The endorsements we’ve received from Bristol to Chesapeake to Richmond to Leesburg prove that we are building a statewide movement.”
The Perryman campaign has received the most endorsements from Hampton Roads out of any candidate in the race for Lt. Governor, including Chesapeake Delegate Cliff Hayes, Newport News School Board Chair Dr. Douglas Brown, and Hampton Commonwealth’s Attorney Anton Bell. The Perryman volunteer GOTV team has had tens of thousands of conversations with voters across the Commonwealth in just weeks. Heading into the final two months of the primary race, Perryman is well positioned and building more momentum every day.
Sean Perryman is President Emeritus of the Fairfax County Chapter of the NAACP, a technology public policy advocate, attorney, and former congressional investigator. If elected he would become one of the youngest Lt. Governors in Virginia history.
